This course critically examines the Socio-historical context, theoretical models, and debates surrounding addiction and recovery.
The exploration throughout this course includes examining theoretical frameworks as they apply to addiction and recovery in diverse populations, including: Medical, socio-ecological, feminist, anti-racist, Indigenous, trauma-informed, public health, and community based approaches.
This course covers stigma, harm reduction, peer support/mutual aid, allyship, boundaries, and recovery capital. Click below for a course outline.
